PTS CELEBRATES ANOTHER EXPANSION OF THE PLANT

SCHWERIN

Our plant in Schwerin today celebrated the completion of the construction shell of our plant extension. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new production hall took place in mid-November 2019. After only four months, the construction company Goldbeck has now completed the shell construction phase of the approximately 4,000 square meter plant. With the topping-out ceremony today, the client and construction company celebrated an important milestone and took the opportunity to thank all those involved.

"Despite the complex explosive ordnance probe and the resettlement of natterjack toads and sand lizards, we are fully on schedule with the conclusion of the shell construction," says Roland Hermle (COO). "This would not have been possible without the reliable planning work of Goldbeck and the great coordination of all the subsections," continues Hermle. And Jörg Heuer, the responsible sales engineer at Goldbeck, is confident: "We can also reach the scheduled completion of the entire production hall this summer - this is not only indicated by the shards of the shot glass that were traditionally thrown after the topping-out ceremony."

The investment sum for the project is around 3.3 million euros. The future hall will provide space for around 70 additional CNC machines, and around 50 additional jobs can be created at the site in Schwerin over the next years. The decision to invest was not an easy one to make because PTS-precision supplies around 70 percent of its products to the automotive industry, which is currently in a veritable crisis. The new production hall will significantly increase the company's flexibility with regard to changing processes, products and customer structures, and with our committed employees we will emerge from the current general crisis stronger than before.

In accordance with the traditional ceremony, the client and general contractor showed the employees and guests - including the deputy mayor of the city of Schwerin, Bernd Nottebaum - the construction site. We would like to thank all employees and guests who celebrated this event with us - above all we would like to thank the construction company Goldbeck, as an experienced general contractor, for the rapid planning and implementation of our construction project.
